Our History

A senior care worker, inspired by an artist painting umbrellas in Central Park to honor 9/11 victims, was deeply moved during her visit to New York months after the attack. In 2010, she collaborated with Winthrop University interns to create Life Blooms Eternally, using the umbrella concept to raise awareness about hospice benefits available for families facing end-of-life decisions.

The first Life Blooms Eternally event in November of 2010 featured 500 floral umbrellas and a memorial service honoring each patient with a name reading and bell toll.

The care my father received at your facility was phenomenal. The love and compassion they showed all of our family was so very comforting. We struggled with taking him home but we realized he was exactly where he needed to be. We will always be indebted to you all for making the transition for him to be with Jesus the best we could have hoped for.

My dearest love. The one who called me out of my shell and called me Pookie.

You are so cute, those big sparkling eyes and your beautiful smile. How you loved to talk with me and our friends. How we loved to travel, Australia, Hawaii, Italy and Alaska. Also, all the trips we made in the RV. You were a baker of cakes, cookies and pies from scratch.

Most importantly, we loved our children Christine and Shawn. They are grown up now with wonderful families.

I love you and miss you. Bob
